Nino Balbaa

Nino holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from McMaster University (’93) and a Masters from the University of Toronto (’98). From 2000 Nino began his career as a consulting engineer and Engineering Manager. Prior to that he held diverse positions in manufacturing. He is skilled in mechanical design and structural analysis/FEA and fully trained on engineering software packages such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Algor and STAAD/Pro. Early in his career, he began utilizing machine guarding standards and has since become an expert on CSA, ANSI, NFPA, ISO and EU standards on machine guarding, safety circuit design and fire and explosion protection. Nino is trained and experienced in control circuit design, PLC programming and new technologies related to safety in control systems. Since 2000, he has been involved in numerous forensic investigations and design reviews of construction equipment, including cranes, elevating work platforms, etc. Nino is authorized to carry the (restricted) title of Consulting Engineer from the PEO and the title of CFPS (Certified Fire Protection Specialist) from NFPA. He has been qualified as an expert witness in court on multiple occasions. Nino is a member of a committee at Professional Engineers Ontario that authored the latest guideline for engineers providing Pre-Start Health & Safety Review.

Ather Shaikh
Mechanical Engineer

Ather has a Mechanical Engineering degree from Ryerson University. Ather is a Solidworks professional and experienced in mechanical design. He manages the mechanical design aspect of our guarding services. He is experienced in 3D scanning technologies and utilizes that technology when presenting solutions to our clients. Ather is highly proficient at finite element analysis and utilizes that skill for special guard designs, analysis of dust collector enclosure strength, component failure analysis, racking and lifting structure analysis and other mechanical and structural engineering projects.

Caden Pereira
Safety Engineer

Caden has a Mechanical Engineering degree from Ryerson University. Since 2016, Caden has worked within the industrial automation industry as an installer, designer and project coordinator and applies his skillset to suit the needs of each, unique project. Having worked years on both production and integrator sides of the industry, Caden works hard to use his knowledge with operating practices and engineering controls technologies to provide innovative, cost-effective solutions for various plant floor environments. Caden returned to college to pursue electrical controls knowledge to supplement his industrial automation experience, as he has a particular inclination toward automated work cell safety and design.
