The Fire Safety Plan
The Ontario Fire Code (S.2.8) requires that you keep an updated Fire Plan. Section 2.8.2.1(4) states: "The fire safety plan shall be reviewed as often as necessary, but at intervals not greater than 12 months, to ensure that it takes account of changes in the use and other characteristics of the building."
Many people mistakenly believe that a Fire Plan is only necessary when there is a significant occupancy. However, the Ontario Fire Code (S.4.1.5.6.) states: "The requirements of Section 2.8 shall apply to buildings and open areas where the quantities of flammable liquids and combustible liquids exceeds 500 L in total or exceeds 250 L of Class I liquids."
