Our team will review any equipment or process that involves combustible dust for compliance with:
  • National and provincial Fire Codes
  • Provincial Health & Safety Regulations
  • Standards such as NFPA 652, 654, 664, 61, 91, 77, 499, 68, 69, and FM 7-73, FM 5-8, FM 5-1 and ISO / European Standards.
  • National and provincial Electrical Codes (with respect to hazardous locations)
  • Enclosure strength (PES) and reduced pressure (PRED) calculations for dust collectors
There has been a strong focus on dust explosions in Canada since the Westray Mine disaster of 1992. Likewise in the U.S.A, awareness was heightened tremendously after the Imperial Sugar explosion of 2008 (see photo below).
